Beef and Biscuit Casserole

Casseroles

1 to 1.5 lbs of ground beef 

.5 cup chopped onion or 2 tablespoons minced onion 

1/4 cup diced green peppers 

2 teaspoons chili powder 

1/2 to 3/4 teaspoons of garlic salt 

1 can (8 oz) refrigerator biscuits 

1.5 cups shredded cheese 

1/2 cup sour cream 

1 egg (slightly beaten) 

1 8oz can tomato sauce 

 

  1. Brown meat, onion and peppers in large fry pan. 
  2. Stir in tomato sauce, chili powder, and garlic salt. Simmer.
  3. Separate each biscuit into 2 layers. Place 10 layers over bottom of uncreased 8 inch or 9 inch baking pan.
  4. Mix well .5 cup cheese, sour cream and egg. 
  5. Remove meat mixture from heat, stir in cream mixture and spoon over dough.
  6. Arrange other biscuit layers on top. Sprinkle with remaining cheese.
  7. Bake at 375 degrees for 25 to 35 minutes, or until biscuits are deep golden brown.
