Beef and Biscuit Casserole
Casseroles1 to 1.5 lbs of ground beef
.5 cup chopped onion or 2 tablespoons minced onion
1/4 cup diced green peppers
2 teaspoons chili powder
1/2 to 3/4 teaspoons of garlic salt
1 can (8 oz) refrigerator biscuits
1.5 cups shredded cheese
1/2 cup sour cream
1 egg (slightly beaten)
1 8oz can tomato sauce
- Brown meat, onion and peppers in large fry pan.
- Stir in tomato sauce, chili powder, and garlic salt. Simmer.
- Separate each biscuit into 2 layers. Place 10 layers over bottom of uncreased 8 inch or 9 inch baking pan.
- Mix well .5 cup cheese, sour cream and egg.
- Remove meat mixture from heat, stir in cream mixture and spoon over dough.
- Arrange other biscuit layers on top. Sprinkle with remaining cheese.
- Bake at 375 degrees for 25 to 35 minutes, or until biscuits are deep golden brown.
